In April 2020, the DoD authorised the release of three Navy videos, one taken in 2004 and two in January 2015, and noted that the aerial phenomena seen in them remain “unidentified” These sightings, in videos taken by Air Force and Navy pilots, were of some unidentified objects that were travelling at considerable speed, surprisingly, without any propulsion, while others performed aerial manouveres that could not be explained. The purpose of this task force is to gain understanding of the nature and origin of various mysterious sightings that have been made, mostly around US military and air bases, in recent years. In August 2020, Deputy Secretary of Defense David L Norquist authorised the establishment of the UAPTF. As of now, NASA does not actively look for UAPs. One of its central goals, in fact, is to look for evidence of such life, but it has not found credible evidence yet. NASA acknowledges that there is a possibility that life exists beyond Earth. What is the scientific community’s view about aliens and UFOs? One-sixth of Americans claimed they had personally witnessed something they thought was a UFO. Yet 60% also believed that these sightings could be explained by human activity or natural phenomenon. The disc shaped object was captured flying extremely close to a small airplane making many who viewed video ask if the pilot themselves had also witnessed the strange craft. A particularly interesting UFO sighting was captured over a United States base in Germany (Spangdaheim Air Base) on the evening of 7th July 2020.
